My goal in this isolating time is to avoid screen time for my kids during school hours (longer if we can!). We have so many toys and games and supplies to entertain, even when the weather is crummy and we’re stuck inside. Today, while I put Scoober Doo down for a nap, the other two got out their current favorite board game and played all by themselves (success!). They call it “The Poop Game” but its official name is “Chickapiglets.”

Chickapiglets
It’s a cooperative game, so either all the players win or all the players lose. This is good for littles who still haven’t learned how to be happy losers yet.
Basic rules: each player gets a hybrid card. They have cute names like “Oscar the Owlaphant” and “Gerald the Gir’rurtle.” Each player gets to flip two tokens on the board and hope that one of them matches your card.

Every time a player finds both animals, they move the chickapiglet token 5 spaces. They might also flip a “poop token,” where the chickapiglet slips in cow poop. Then the cow moves 5 spaces. Your goal is to beat the cow. Hence why my kids call it “the poop game.”
There is a version for older kids called Chickapig, which we will definitely buy when they get bigger. This little kid version is still tricky, at least for me, because the matching pattern is circular; I do well with matching games in a grid, but the circle format really throws me for a loop! (no pun intended)
If you have a preschooler in your life, I definitely recommend this game. Buy it from this post and I make a few cents too; never a bad thing in this uncertain time!
